가을이 오면 웬지 꼭 한번 듣고싶어지는 요한의 애장품같은 곡입니다. ^_^

 

R.E.M.의 8번째 앨범 Automatic For The People 의 수록곡으로 이 앨범은

Led Zeppelin 의 베이시스트 였고 스트링(현악)편곡에 탁월한 능력을 가진

존 폴존스 John Paul Jones 의 편곡참여로  R.E.M. 특유의 서정성 넘치는

sound 를 더욱 풍성하게 해준 수작입니다.

 

 

 

음을 입체적으로 구성한다는게 어떤것인지 느끼게하는 이 곡의 표현력은

언제 들어도 놀랍기만 합니다. 잠시 눈을 감고 달빛만이 반사되어 넘실거리는

Every streetlight reveals the picture in reverse.
Still, it's so much clearer.

The moon is low tonight.

I'm not sure all these people understand.
It's not like years ago,
The fear of getting caught,
Of recklessness and water.

 

 

They cannot see me naked.
These things, they go away,
Replaced by everyday.
Nightswimming, remembering that night.

September's coming soon.
I'm pining for the moon.
And what if there were two
Side by side in orbit
Around the fairest sun?

 

 

That bright, tight forever drum
